A dad was left flabbergasted over his diagnosis of colon cancer and shared how he found out about his illness. The content creator, known as coloncanceramigo on TikTok, learned about his diagnosis of colon cancer as he discovered the real reason of him losing weight drastically.

In a candid video, the content creator explained that he initially thought his diet was finally working before he was diagnosed with the disease as he experienced weight loss. However, in a heartbreaking turn of events, he was told he actually had colon cancer (bowel cancer). He said the signs were "right in front" of his face for a while, but it took him some time to get checked out. Sharing a poignant video, he wrote, "Colon cancer signs were right in front of my face. These are the last few months before being diagnosed with with Stage 3b Cancer. I thought my 'ketot diet was finally working. I unexpectedly lost 401bs within a two-month span. The rectal bleeding was getting worse. The abdominal pain kept coming back often. I started sleeping more and more with random fevers. The diarrhoea just kept coming. The pain eventually got too bad so I rushed to the ER. A quick CT scan detected a huge mass in my colon. I was diagnosed with cancer at age 32."
He is a colon cancer survivor now and has amassed a large following due to his candid discussions about his journey with cancer. Using the social media platform, he is now urging people to be vigilant when it comes to their health.
The internet reacts:
Since the video was shared on social media, it has garnered popularity, prompting a much-needed awareness amongst the netizens. They have come up with an outpouring support in the comment section, with many of them expressing their gratitude for the use of the platform to bring attention to the illness.

While one user expressed their personal loss, writing, "Thank you for the awareness. I just lost my grandmother to colon cancer. It's good to know people are out there sharing their stories," another person shared, "I'm so sorry this happened to you. I'm a colon cancer survivor, and you've got this my friend." Someone else commented, "Just lost my mother-in-law to colon cancer. Had no idea until it was too late."
Colon cancer:
A cancer of the colon or rectum, located at the digestive tract's lower end. Early cases can begin as non-cancerous polyps. These often have no symptoms but can be detected by screening. For this reason, doctors recommend screenings for those at high risk or over the age of 50 or even earlier if a family history of colon cancer is present.
Colon cancer, one of the most common types of cancer worldwide - is the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Thanks to obesity and alcohol consumption, bowel cancer has become the primary cause of rising death toll among young adults. According to a study published in 2023 in the Annals of Oncology, marks the first time bowel cancer (colorectal/colon cancer) deaths among young people—Millennials and Gen Xers ages 25-49—are predicted to rise in some European countries, and confirms a trend researchers first noted in 2021.
Symptoms:
Colorectal cancer symptoms depend on the size and location of the cancer. Symptoms of colon cancer, also known as colorectal or rectal cancer, can include:
Bowel changes: Diarrhea, constipation, or a feeling that the bowel doesn't empty
completely
Blood in stool: Bright red or dark blood in the stool or toilet bowl.
Abdominal discomfort: Frequent gas pains, bloating, fullness, or cramps.
Weight loss: Unexplained weight loss.
Fatigue: Tired eyes, tired legs, whole-body tiredness, decreased energy, or
inability to concentrate.
Other symptoms: Nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, and feeling weak.
Symptoms may not always occur, especially at first, and they'll likely depend on
the cancer's size and where it is in the large intestine.
