Aryna Sabalenka told her box to book tickets home midway through her Wimbledon quarter-final against Laura Siegemund. The World No. 1 faced one of her sternest tests of the tournament on Centre Court, as she took on World No. 104 Siegemund - a German veteran 10 years her senior.

The Belarusian came from a break down twice in the deciding set before raising her level and eventually edging out Siegemund, who gave it everything, much to the delight of the crowd. | Wimbledon Day 9 Highlights |

"She pushed me so much. After the first set, I was just looking at my box thinking, 'Guys, book the tickets - I think we're about to leave this beautiful city, this beautiful country.'"

The three-time Grand Slam champion was full of praise for the London crowd, crediting their energy for helping her pull through the match. Read More
