Monsoon has begun and most of us often end up ignoring the issues and health concerns that arise in this season. With increase in humidity and moisture in the air, we often tend to overlook that this is also the season where infections, allergies, air borne and water borne diseases are very common. The change of season can affect your overall health and this is why the need of strengthening immunity and metabolism in this season is essential. Avoid meats and fishes

Monsoon happens to be the breeding season for the fishes and animals, which makes them unfit for consumption and the presence of any allergens, bacteria or virus in the animal's body can pass on to the humans after consumption. Apart from that, there are many pathogens that affect the animals in this season due to the hygienic conditions and raw fodder, this can pass on to the human body, thus it is suggested to avoid meats, fishes, eggs and even animal milk.

Street foods

There's no denying the fact that this is the season when enjoying a plate full of pakoras or samosas or even roadside bhutta can turn out to be the best food experience. However, this is actually the season, where you must avoid any kind of street food as the rains can increase the hygienic conditions and can lead to several waterborne diseases. Apart from that, in this season several pathogens, worms and other infections are found in the raw veggies, leafy greens and fruits and making any delicacy with raw produce without thoroughly washing them or treating them can lead to food poisoning, diarrhea and other pathogen developed ailments.

Stay hydrated

Summers followed by rains can also induce more humidity in the weather, which often leads to excessive water loss from the body in the form of sweat, which dehydrates the body and leads to a disbalance in the electrolyte level in the body. Thus, staying hydrated in this season is very important and the best way to stay hydrated and give your body the right balance of nutrients is to drink plenty of water. You can also drink detox water with lemon slices, ginger juliennes and mint leaves, these help in fighting the ailments caused due to the seasons change. Make sure you drink lukewarm water or herbal concoctions to replenish the lost nutrients and stay hydrated. Read More
