Adventure enthusiasts have something exciting to look forward to in Himachal Pradesh. As per the reports, parasailing activities are set to commence at Govind Sagar Lake in Bilaspur district, Himachal Pradesh. A leading Delhi-based company, currently operating in Tehri, Uttarakhand, has been invited to conduct trial operations for this thrilling venture, officials confirmed recently.
Referring to this development, Deputy Commissioner of Bilaspur, Aabid Hussain Sadiq stated that all necessary approvals have been granted for the project. The company will bring specialised parasailing boats to the lake in the first week of December to begin the trial phase, which will last for two months.
A technical committee comprising experts will monitor the trials to ensure the safety and feasibility of the operations. Based on the trial results, the District Regulation Committee will evaluate the project for granting formal permits and developing a structured operational framework.
If successful, parasailing will become a permanent feature at Govind Sagar Lake, enhancing its appeal as a premier destination for water sports in Himachal Pradesh.

Govind Sagar Lake already attracts tourists with activities like cruise rides and shikara rides. The addition of parasailing promises to elevate the lake’s status as a hub for water-based adventure tourism.
“Parasailing will not only offer an exhilarating experience for visitors but also create employment opportunities for locals, contributing to the region's economic growth,” said DC Sadiq. He also hinted at plans for expanding water sports offerings in the future, aiming to make Bilaspur a focal point for water tourism in North India.
