Mohammed Siraj was at his animated best on Saturday morning in Adelaide as he bowled his heart out in an extended spell. The rub of green did not go his way as he went wicketless in the seven-over burst from the start of Day 2 to the drink break in the pink-ball Test against Australia. However, there was no lack of drama.
Mohammed Siraj even came up with the famous Stuart Broad 'celebrappeal', but he was not able to get a wicket in the morning session. Siraj even tried to needle Marnus Labuschagne, who was slowly but surely returning to form, in a bid to unsettle the Australian batter's concentration. However, nothing went his way in the morning session.
In the 36th over of the contest, Mohammed Siraj bowled a full-length delivery that hit Marnus Labuschagne's pads. Siraj did not even turn back and appeal as he began celebrating, expecting umpire Richard Illingworth to give it out. However, the on-field umpire remained unmoved. Siraj tried to convince Rohit Sharma to take a DRS. The India captain, however, turned his request down after a lengthy discussion with his teammates.
India made the right call as the replay showed a healthy inside edge before the ball hit the pads.
