Harshit Rana did not look the part on Day 2 of the second Test between Australia and India in Adelaide. The young fast bowler was taken to the cleaners on Saturday morning as Australia quickly wiped off the deficit in their first innings, racing past India's first innings total of 180.
Harshit Rana was taken to the cleaners by Marnus Labuschagne and Travis Head as the young pacer did not help build the pressure that was exerted on the Australians by Jasprit Bumrah. Rana conceded 38 runs in a spell of five overs, which came after Australia lost opener Nathan McSweeney and Steve Smith in quick succession.
Harshit Rana lacked control in both line and length as he sprayed it around. Head and Labuschagne punished the young pacer, smashing him for 17 runs in the final over of his spell on Saturday morning. Head hit a boundary and gave the strike to Labuschagne, who pulled and cut Rana for three more boundaries.
It was a disappointing effort from Rana, who did not look calm and composed despite the brilliant morning burst from Jasprit Bumrah. The 22-year-old conceded at 4.30 runs per over in 13 overs.
